  • March 18: The Peotone Car Club’s 24th annual Swap Meet, 8 a.m. at Will County Fairgrounds, 710 S. West St., Peotone. 1/2 hour south of Chicago, I-57 to exit 327, 1 mile east to Fairgrounds, gates open at 8 a.m., $4, children 12 & younger free. For information, call Todd Sandberg at (708) 828-2687
  • April 29: Arboretum of South Barrington, 12-3 p.m., held on the plaza next to the antiques market. For more details call Amanda – (847) 426-6200
  • May 19: Wienerville III, 3rd annual “meet and great” Spring Car Show featuring the Windy City Cobra Club, 1785 Larkin Ave., Elgin. Noon to 4 p.m. All muscle cars, collector cars, hot rods, etc., are welcome. This is a family event so bring your kids and a camera to take their picture behind the wheel of a Cobra.   • May 20: Car Show Series presented by Wild Automotive at R.S.V.P Bar and Grill 28682 Northwest Highway Lake Barrington, IL 60010. $10 entry fee and top 20 cars get a trophy.   • June 2: Romin’ the Island Car Party, 4 p.m., The Forge Pub, 3400 127th St., Blue Island. Spectator choice, participant choice, Romin’ Chariots Car Club choice and Best of Show awards at 8 p.m. Live bands and DJs.   • June 16: 2nd Annual Salt Creek Park District’s Invitational Show and Shine, 9:00am – 3:00pm, Two of Chicagoland’s Premier Mustang Clubs will be participating. In addition to the show there are plenty of family activities to entertain all who attend. Music, Food and Beverages will be available, for purchase. Car Show access is from Palatine Road to Winston Drive and then left on Frontage Road. All ages, free to attend. Parking is in the lawn area so no motorcycles please.   • June 17: The North Shore Corvette Club & Libertyville Chevrolet sponsor a Corvette, Chevy & Street Rod Father’s Day Charity Car Show, 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Libertyville Chevrolet, 1001 S. Milwaukee Ave. Proceeds benefit the veterans at Capt. James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center in North Chicago.   • June 30: Arboretum of South Barrington, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. with check in at 10 a.m.  $10.00 pre-registration and $15.00 at the door. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies for four different classes. (CUSTOM, CLASSICS, MUSCLE, IMPORT). Raffling off prizes donated by O’Reilly’s auto parts and other sponsors. All proceeds from this event will benefit the Hoffman Estates Police Explorer Post 806, looking to raise enough money for travel expenses to Colorado to compete in the National Police Explorer Competition.
