|George is the second owner of the car, he bought it about 30 years ago when it had about 20,000 miles on it.
The vehicle is in excellent condition throughout... the engine is so quiet you can hardly hear it run.
|There was no rust on the car at all, but the lacquer paint had worn through from polishing in a few places, so he gave it an excellent paint job when he first got it (base/clear).
The interior is 100% original, and in remarkably good shape for its age.
|The only addition that is not a GM factory part is the turn signals. He added some other optional extras, but found original correct GM parts, including a backup light and fog lights. He even found the correct switch for the fog lights!|
|The car came new with a lot of optional equipment, including a cigar lighter ($2.00), a glove box light, a clock ($12.90) which still works, a GM radio ($45.50) which also still works, a heater (13.45), and a second defroster ($10.75)
1940 was the first year for a production automatic transmission in an Oldsmobile. This car even has the original cardboard sign that fits over the sunvisor explaining how to operate the transmission!
|The car comes with the original bill of sale, the original owners manual, a service manual, a salesman's reference book and the installation instructions for the sun visor which was added by the first owner.|
